Meet Sam Perlmutter, PhD, CAP®

Sam combines serious scientific credentials with a refreshingly down-to-earth approach.

And though his academic background is unmatched, Sam deliberately breaks the “in the weeds” scientist stereotype. Expect relatable metaphors, conversational explanations, and sometimes even a few burpees in the middle of a meeting to keep everyone energized. And because Sam has been consulting in the private sector for more than 15 years, across industries, he’s as fluent in business as he is in science and engineering.

He holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in neuroscience from Northwestern University, and has conducted groundbreaking research on stroke rehabilitation. He also has experience serving as a human factors expert witness in high-stakes litigation, and previously worked as a scientific consultant at Exponent and an experiential producer at Deeplocal.
